Salvete, omnes!
After a fun weekend at Fall Forum, Chattahoochee Latin threw their annual Halloween Party to celebrate the spooky season on Thursday, October 20th. JCLers enjoyed some fun activities where they could relax and/or compete against their peers! Here's an overview of what happened: 1. Decorating cookies - pumpkins, owls, and ghosts! 2. Coloring, puzzles, and food! 3. Certamen - played some modernized Latin trivia questions! 4. Service project - wrote cards to teachers for our semester community project! 5. Mafia - played a murder mystery game (for the season, of course)! 6. Relay games - completed in a three-legged race and more! We hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween Party and will make an appearance at the end-of-semester Funeral Games on Thursday, December 8th for a grandiose party of even more fun! Chattahoochee Latin hosted the annual Grapes of Wrath, a competitive grape-eating event, to enjoy some time sorting everyone into their mentorship houses and eat objectively too many grapes. This year's "King of Grapes" was Aaron Getkin, for the second year in a row. Each attendee at the meeting was asked questions ranging from "what's your favorite Taylor Swift song?" to "how would you get away with murder?" to assess their personality and assign them a CJCL Executive Board officer to be their mentor for the year. If you're unsure about who your mentor is, please email [email protected] to confirm. All JCLers should be sorted into mentorship houses after this meeting regardless of attendance. Competitors played in a bracket-style game until we reached the final competitors! Hazards aside, we hope everyone had a great time at the Grapes of Wrath. Check out our Instagram, @chattahoocheejcl, for pictures from the event. See you at our Halloween Party on Thursday, October 20th, and don't forget to sign up for GJCL Fall Forum at Wheeler HS on Saturday, October 15th! Vale, CJCL Executive Board 2022-23 Salvete, omnes!
